Hi gang,

I started about two years ago to buy the archives. I bought Superman 1, 2 then 3 and 4, a little later 5. Then Action Comics archives 3 came up...and I bought it. Love these but they ain't exactly free... I got a good deal from amazon.ca - ACtion 1 and 2 for $110.00 - I only started reading last night... Wow! What a different Superman... I didn't think that the comic was that "primitive" (well to the later on standards...). But, I love the social stories. Superman might still be a great comic but I miss the "end" at the end of a comic. I also miss seeing Superman take care of the little people personally.

Hmmm. The list price on these is $49.95. How can $110 be a good deal for two Archives? I believe Amazon currently even has free shipping for orders of this size.

He's from Canada, if amazon.ca is any indication. Uncertain, though, if 110 dollars is for Canada or if the Canadian dollar really has become that bad that 110 US dollars is a bargain.

Archive Editions are SRP as $49.95 US or $82.95 Canadian. That's why $110. for two is a good buy in the great white north.

Hi,

Yeah, that's correct I'm in the great white north, my nextdoorneighbor has an igloo... (slaps his head) Anyway it's about 1.40 for 1.00 u.s.!!! Regular on both would be about 160.00 plus taxes and shipping!!!
I think my (mental) problem is that I simply won't go and buy them used. I don't have many old Superman comics because I simply hate buying used. You never "what" you'll find in between pages...

Hi,

Nothing if you mean "objects" like food but I've found coffee stains and so on. If I ever read and eat something, or drink, it's really a turnoff to find a stain you can't identify...

WOW!

I've just finished the first volume of Action. I can't believe how the stories we're great. I just love Superman who saves the little guy. I was a giant fan before but it's only getting better!

Canada's Amazon.ca does the same thing like the US amazon.com store, offers books over the $30 cover price at a discount of 30% off. Instead of the $82.00 Canadian price, after the 30% discount, we only pay around the $50-$60 CDN price range (depending after taxes, etc.). Its still a bargain at least. I would not be able to pay over $80 per Archive on a regular basis.

I've been there since the first Superman Archive, and enjoy the classic, Golden Age Superman stories. Just need to read Superman Archives volumes 4 and 5, and Action vol. 3. Don't forget, the black & white newspaper strips of Superman in the three volumes of Superman: The Dailies and companion volume, Superman: The Sunday Classics, are all worth getting too!

Hi,

I did pay for a few at the 80+ with taxes... It really hurt my wallet... BUT, these books are really great... I just wish that we'd have at least one ACtion Comics Archive per year. We'd eventually get to some classic first time great villains!
